Discovering the BBK 1/6 Scale Scarlett: A Collector’s Journey with GI Joe’s Iconic Heroine

Welcome to the Outpost. As most of you may know my first GI Joes were the 12 inch Joes. I have enjoyed being able to hunt down many of the ARAH style Joes and one that has always left a void is Scarlett . I even made a crude but likable custom Scarlett. The other day I stumbled upon a 1/6 scale Scarlett by BBK. It is the first time I have heard of this company but since it was on Amazon I ordered one to add to my collection. The figure comes in a really nice box with an animated Scarlett on the front and sides and some figure photos on the back.
Opening her up reveals a Scarlett figure with a blue jump suit with a really cool modern design on it. The yellow 1 piece looks really cool but the zipper is a bit tight so I had to use some extra caution to make sure I didn’t break it. The end result look really cool though. Her boots are her signature high heels and there is not a bare foot that slides into the boot. They are a soft leather like upper with a solid plastic heel that snaps nicely into the leg and provides a sturdy stance with movement in all directions for posing. I could swap out for a bare foot if I ever did want to swap her uniform or boots for any reason. I did drop her jump suit down and the body is a soft rubber or plastic and the face is a hard plastic with red flowing hair.
I’m not sure if it is intentional or I may be delusional about all the hype lately but I think she looks a bit like Taylor Swift. Into her accessories. There are knee and elbow pads which looks like BBK is giving a shout out to the 2010 3-3/4 version, this seems to be the only version of Scarlett I could find with knee pads. Cool but I may leave those off. She does have a nice utility belt with magnetic pouches so you can easily store ammo and supplies. She comes with a pistol and a cool shotgun that you can load the shells into. The only gripe I have is she did not come with her signature crossbow but this may be because they are outlawed these days. I thought about using a 6 inch Chewbacca rifle but, it didn’t look right. I did have a 1/6 scale crossbow with a large handle, but I think it works. Over all this is a really cool figure and I’m happy I was fortunate enough to pick her up. Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
